Miracle On Martin Debuts In Downtown Homewood

The inaugural event will feature horse-drawn carriage rides and an "I Spy" business windown scavenger hunt.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The village continues its holiday celebrations with the inaugural Miracle on Martin in downtown Homewood. The free event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, and includes a variety of activities for kids and families.

Here's a look at what's on tap when for this debut event:

Horse-drawn carriage rides: Trot throughout the downtown from 3 to 6 p.m. Residents also will be able to enjoy warm drinks and roast marshmallows as costumed carolers sing.

Santa at the Science Center: Jolly Ol' St. Nick will be in town from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Homewood Science Center, 18022 Dixie Hwy., to hear what kids want for Christmas.

"I Spy" Window Search: Pick up maps during Miracle on Martin in order to participate in this community-wide scavenger hunt. The maps will guide residents to the downtown businesses with the riddles in their windows. Those riddles will provide clues to the items that need to be found.
