HOMEWOOD, IL — Officials say an Oak Forest man was arrested early Wednesday after leading police on a foot chase after being seen trying to gain access into cars.

Police were called just after 2 a.m. Wednesday to the 1500 block of Linden for a report of a suspicious male pulling on car door handles. When police arrived, the suspect fled, leading police on a foot chase. As the man ran, he was seen throwing an item, which police later found to be an unloaded handgun, according to officials.

Officers took the man, identified as 42-year-old Marco Wilson, into custody. During a pat down search, police found proceeds from a car burglary in his pockets, police said Wednesday.
