On His Game: Team Comes First for H-F Soccer Captain Hurley
The Vikings' senior forward talks about the sport he loves, the friendships he has made with teammates, and a recent game against Marian Catholic.
Mike Hurley has been playing soccer for a long time, and his skills on the soccer field bear that out. The senior forward for the boys soccer team is a key cog in the Vikings' offensive attack.
As a captain, Hurley is expected to be a leader on the field and in the huddle, and it’s a role he has embraced. Hurley says the camaraderie and friendships with his teammates are the most rewarding parts of playing the sport.
His commitment to the team extends past friendship, though. He bypasses personal goals, focusing on doing whatever he can to help the team succeed.
