Planned Parenthood In Flossmoor Reopens

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Planned Parenthood of Illinois reopened most of its health center locations across the state Monday after temporarily consolidating services to six centers in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization said. Beginning June 15, services were provided out of 15 Planned Parenthood facilities in the state, including the location at 19831 Governors Highway in Flossmoor.

The nine additional health centers Planned Parenthood reopened came following the state's shift into Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan. Other suburban Chicago Planned Parenthood locations reopening Monday include the ones in Orland Park, Waukegan and Aurora.

"Throughout this crisis, our staff has proven to be flexible and innovative as we've worked to provide safe and uninterrupted access to essential health care," said Jennifer Welch, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Illinois. "We are thankful for the progress Illinois has made in slowing COVID-19 and are grateful to be reopening most of our health centers this month."

Social distancing measures and a "universal masking policy" are among the safety measures Planned Parenthood has in place to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus.
