Homewood Police Break Up 'Rowdy' Teen Crowd At Graduation Party

The incident happened June 11 in the 1200 block of Elder Road.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood police were called Sunday to the scene of a graduation party that grew to become "uncontrollable" when the crowd swelled. Calls to 911 included reports of a suspect with a gun and groups fighting, both which police said were not true.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Elder Road for a report of a large group gathered. Upon arrival, officers discovered one of the callers was hosting an eighth grade graduation party.

The party became uncontrollable when approximately 100 young teenagers gathered in the area, police said. Homewood officers cleared the groups gathered on Elder and remained in the area until the majority of the crowd was dispersed.
