Service Glitch Interrupts Metra Alerts

Some messages about train delays and statuses are not reaching Metra customers.

Chicago, IL — A glitch in Metra's email and Twitter alert system has kept some delay and train status messages from reaching Metra customers.

Metra does not yet know how long it will take to resolve the issue, which is believed to be related to the agency's new email service, according to Metra.

About 100,000 customers who are signed up for email and service alerts have been affected.
Metra customers can still visit metrarail.com for train information, and they can use the Ventra app's train tracking feature, Metra reports.
