Shots Fired At Car In Traffic: Flossmoor Police

The incident happened late Monday afternoon, police said.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor police are investigating after shots were fired at a car in traffic late Monday afternoon, police said Tuesday.

Police were called just after 4 p.m. for a report of shots fired at the intersection of Western Avenue and Vollmer Road. Officers determined that multiple rounds were fired at a vehicle in traffic, which contained two occupants.

The suspect car was described as a black Mercedes SUV. The car sped away from the intersection of Western Avenue and Vollmer Road immediately following the shooting. The incident is believed to be isolated and there is no active threat to the Flossmoor community, police said.
