ILLINOIS — Gov. J.B. Pritzker voiced support recently for the multiple investigations into embattled Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, according to reports.

"We’ve looked into whether we ought to put resources, whether it’s state police and their anti-corruption efforts or asking the Attorney General,” he told reporters at an event last week, NBC 5 Chicago reported.

Pritzker noted both the FBI and former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot were investigating Henyard and said the state would support those authorities, according to Fox News.

"The reality is there are already two pretty significant investigations going on," he said, NBC 5 reported.

The comments came after a village board meeting last week that escalated to shouting and shoving, with residents ejected by police, during which trustees overrode Henyard’s veto of Lightfoot’s $400-an-hour probe into Henyard’s spending, reports said.

Critics have called Henyard the “worst mayor in America,” according to Fox. She is accused of weaponizing police raids, her cancer charity is under scrutiny, and a person said they were fired after speaking out about being sexually assaulted by an ally of the mayor during a trip to Las Vegas, the outlet reported. Henyard’s makeup artist was listed as an administrative assistant on a payroll sheet for Thornton Township, of which Henyard is the supervisor, according to NBC 5.

Henyard’s office did not respond to comment requests from Fox or NBC 5.
