The search is on for the driver who took a joy ride through Irwin Park. An unknown person decided to speed through the park's lawn sometime between 7 p.m. on the night of Friday, Sept. 20 and 9 a.m. the next morning, leaving ruts of torn up grass in its trail. H-F Park District Director Debbie Kopas says this type of thing happens at least a couple times every year, and that it appears random in nature. "We would truly appreciate any leads on who may have done this," Kopas said. "It seems so senseless and such a waste of taxpayer resources to make repairs."
