Berry Lane Drainage Improvements
The Village is currently working with the Army Corps of Engineers on a large-scale drainage project in the north end of the Heather Hill neighborhood on Berry Lane, Bob-o-Link Rd, and Maryland Ave, to provide flood mitigation relief to the area. The project includes the installation of a large storm sewer in the roadway and permeable street pavers on Berry Lane with stormwater storage in the aggregate subbase. The Army Corps of Engineers is managing the construction of the project, which has a total estimated cost of $2,915,724. The Village successfully secured more than $2 million in grants for the project from the Army Corps of Engineers Section, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Construction on the Berry Lane drainage improvements is anticipated to start in April of 2022 and will last until the fall.
