After a break in the wintery precipitation Thursday morning, wind driven snow is expected to begin around mid-afternoon Thursday and will continue into the early evening hours. Snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches including light levels of ice accumulations are possible with this storm. Wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour are also anticipated to accompany this storm.
The Village of Flossmoor Public Works Department will begin treating Village roadways and sidewalks starting at 4 a.m. Thursday morning to combat ice formation with the dropping temperatures. Snow is estimated to begin around 9 a.m. Thursday morning and will continue into the evening hours. Public Works crews will be out snowplowing during the event and will continue until the cleanup is complete late Thursday night or Friday morning. Residents should try to limit travel tomorrow due to the expected ice and snow conditions. As a reminder, there is no parking on Village streets with snow accumulation of 2-inches or more. Please keep these other snow removal practices in mind when the winter storms arrive.
