Woman, 22, Dies After Struck By 2 Cars On Kedzie: Hazel Crest PD

Two cars hit Tamia Costello, of Park Forest, Thursday night before fleeing the scene, Hazel Crest police said.

HAZEL CREST, IL — Hazel Crest police are urging witnesses to come forward after a 22-year-old woman was struck by two cars, and later died of her injuries.

Police were called at 11:20 p.m. August 1 to 173rd and Kedzie Avenue, for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. Witnesses told police that a woman—identified as Tamia Costello of Park Forest—had been struck by a white SUV that fled the scene north on Kedzie, Police Chief Mitchell Davis said in a release.

As she lay in the street and witnesses tried to stop traffic, Costello was struck a second time, by a black sedan northbound on Kedzie. That car also did not stop, police said.
