Woman Shot, Homewood Man Charged With Attempted Murder
The incident happened early Saturday, July 1 in the 3000 block of Hickory Road, Homewood police said.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A 39-year-old Homewood man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery by strangulation following a domestic incident Saturday, July 1.
Police Saturday were called to the 3000 block of Hickory before 5 a.m. for a call of a gunshot victim. A woman was found shot in the leg, and told police it happened during a domestic-related argument, police said.
The male offender, who was later identified as 39-year-old Jermaine Terrell of Homewood, was located inside the home and taken into custody.

Police later arrested and charged him. He was taken to the Cook County Circuit court and awaits a bond hearing on Monday.
Police said that this was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
