Woman Had Stun Gun In Custody, Man Showed Gun During Fight: Cops

Police said 2 people were arrested in connection with weapons charges last month in the Homewood-Flossmoor area.

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — Two people were arrested in connection to illegal weapons charges last month, according to authorities.

A 45-year-old Park Forest woman is facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon and retail theft after police said they found a stun gun on her while she waited in custody. The woman was accused of stealing $277.40 from a Walmart Supercenter on Dec. 18.

Another man is facing charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault after police said they saw the man threaten to kill another person. Officers said Nick Mattia, 36, made the person believe he was going to use the weapon by displaying the grip of the firearm during an argument.
