• Police warn residents in Lake and McHenry counties about scammers impersonating officers, demanding money (lakemchenryscanner.com) — Huntley police are warning local residents about scammers who call pretending to be law enforcement, using 815 numbers and real names while demanding bond or fine payments by phone or cryptocurrency. Authorities in both Lake and McHenry counties stress they will never request money this way and urge residents to hang up and report suspicious calls.
   

• Trump And Truth Store Moving To Crystal Lake (patch.com) — A politically themed gift shop is leaving Huntley after disputes over village building and sign rules, including a large inflatable figure, and relocating to Crystal Lake. The owner says she faced steep daily fines and calls the village’s actions political, while planning a new grand opening nearby.
