• Jacobs' Brett Biondo, Woodstock win FVC/KRC Alliance boys bowling titles: Friday's Northwest Herald roundup (shawlocal.com) — Huntley athletes had a big presence in Friday’s area sports, with the Red Raiders boys bowling team finishing runner-up at the FVC/KRC Alliance Tournament and several bowlers placing in the top 10. Huntley’s boys basketball team fell to Jacobs in Algonquin, while the girls basketball squad rolled past Jacobs to stay near the top of the Fox Valley Conference. 
• Crystal Lake home damaged in fire that broke out in bathroom (shawlocal.com) — Huntley firefighters were among several area departments that helped Crystal Lake crews knock down a bathroom fire that spread into the attic of a single-family home Thursday afternoon. The blaze was quickly brought under control, one person was treated and released at the scene, and damage was estimated at about $10,000 while the cause remains under investigation.
