Big-Hearted Joliet Mom Has Been There For Son At Highest And Lowest

JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

What makes your Mom extra special?

Maria Gonzalez is the sweetest person you know. She has a very big heart and always is willing to help the community out. She always gives an extra hand when you need it. She not only helps other people, but any animal that is hungry, she will feed and give water. She is an angel from God. She will never turn her back on anybody.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom has been there for me in my highest and the lowest. She never gave up on me, and now I am a strong man with respect for all women in the world.
