Car Crashes Into House, Gas Meter In Joliet, Driver Suffers 'Medical Event': English
Here's what we know so far about the crash around rush hour at Larkin and Avalon.

JOLIET, IL — A 35-year-old driver was taken to St. Joe's hospital Friday afternoon after his vehicle crashed into a house on Joliet's west side.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said at 4:34 p.m., the officers responded to North Larkin Avenue and Avalon Avenue for a single vehicle crash.
The Nissan Altima driven by the 35-year-old Joliet man was northbound on North Larkin Avenue approaching Avalon Avenue. The driver may have suffered a medical event and veered to the right and struck a light pole on the east side of the roadway, English revealed.

The Nissan continued northbound through the grass, crossed Avalon Avenue, and came to a stop after striking a house in the 600 block of North Larkin Avenue. The driver was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department in stable condition.
The Joliet home was unoccupied at the time of the crash. Nicor Gas was called to the scene because the vehicle struck a gas meter. A city of Joliet building inspector responded to evaluate the structural damage.

Larkin Avenue was closed between Mason and Mayfield, and traffic, including numerous semi-trailers, stretched far down Larkin Avenue after the crash.
