Caretaker Crushed By Car After Resident Finds Her Friends Flopping At His House: Cops
The floppers tried to drive off but ran over the caretaker and got stuck, police said.

A woman was crushed under a car driven by a friend trying to flee from a Joliet man who found her flopping at his house, police said.
The grievously injured 26-year-old woman was working as a caretaker for the ailing man, police said. He returned to his Mayfield Avenue home about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and reportedly found her hanging around with another man and woman.
The 59-year-old man called his son for help, police said, and in the ensuing commotion the trespassing couple tried to take off in a car. The woman was behind the wheel and she hit a parked vehicle, police said. Blocked in, she reportedly tried to escape by driving through the yard.

Along the way she hit the caretaker, who got trapped beneath the vehicle, police said.
Officers arrived and were able to lift the car high enough to get the woman out. She was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center where it seemed she might die, police said. Her condition has since improved.

The woman suffered a broken pelvis and broken ribs, police said.
The woman who ran her over was charged with driving under the influence. She had allegedly been smoking marijuana before she ran over her friend.
Police said her name will be released later today.
