Drunken Woman Caught With Someone Else's Xanax After Crash: Cops

The Hometown woman claimed someone almost cut her off but the driver she hit said that was a lie, according to police.

A drunken driver got caught with Xanax after crashing into a car on South Larkin Avenue Sunday afternoon, police said.

Kimberly Gerber, 46, told police she was avoiding a car that nearly cut her off, police said, but the driver of the vehicle she rear-ended contradicted her story.

Gerber, a resident of Hometown, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.143, police said, and got caught carrying Xanax that had not been prescribed to her.

Gerber crashed into the other car, which was driven by a 50-year-old woman, just north of McDonough Street.

Gerber was taken to the Will County jail. She was charged with driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
