I-80 Shut Down After 2 Semis Collide: Grundy County Sheriff
It happened Monday morning before 6 a.m.

MORRIS, IL — Grundy County Sheriff's officials are advising drivers that Interstate 80 will be backed up for several miles on Monday as the result of a collision involving two semitrailers. According to officials, I-80 westbound is shut down just before the Morris exit. There is no information available on when I-80 will reopen.
The crash happened at 5:16 a.m., according to Illinois State Police. One semi is jackknifed, and the other semi is on its side, blocking all lanes of traffic. Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with injuries. I-80 westbound traffic is being diverted off at Brisbin Road. Lane closures were expected to last another four to five hours, state police advised at 8 a.m.
Earlier, Morris police announced that both semi drivers were taken to the hospital and that firefighters advised that the cleanup of the wreck may take 12 hours.

"AVOID the area," Morris Police advised.
Eastbound I-80 traffic is now slow "due to emergency vehicles and looky loos," Morris Police posted. "The area will be congested. Cleanup will take a while. Avoid if at all possible."
