Joliet City Councilman In Hospital Earlier This Week: Report

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet councilman was transported to a nearby hospital earlier this week after family members became concerned for his health, according to a report by WJOL.

Don "Duck" Dickinson was elected councilman at large in Joliet on April 4, 2017. The radio station reported Friday that he did not attend Monday or Tuesday’s Joliet City Council meetings.

Joliet Police and Fire were called to his home Monday where he was taken to the hospital. No other details were made available of his condition.

Back in August, Dickinson announced he would not seek another four-term on the council in next April's city elections.

"I just want to spend more time with my loved ones. The time has come for me to step away from politics. I will finish my term, but that will be it," he said.
