Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Joliet, meet Glenn Sanders.

JOLIET, IL— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Joliet, meet Glenn Sanders.
If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Joshua Sanders who nominated Glenn Sanders of Joliet.
What makes your dad extra special?
My dad is retired United States Veteran of the Military. He served in the Marine Corps and was deployed in Vietnam. My dad has gone to so many lengths to make sure people have food on their tables, plates, and forks to eat with, napkins to clean up with, and [he would give] the shirt off his back if he had to. My dad has helped so many people in his lifetime, including putting together benefits for those who have major heath problems and little to no financial help. My dad is the best father a son could truly ask for. My dad isn’t just special because he’s my dad, but he is special because of his big heart. I love you, Dad!
Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?
My dad deserves the spotlight because he has beaten cancer three times now, and all through that time he’s continued to be the most unselfish person I’ve come to know in my whole life. As much as he has going on, he always checks up on his people first. He has the biggest heart, and I’m sure 50% of Joliet and Crest Hill would agree. My father is very well known!
Happy Father’s Day to Glenn Sanders, and thank you for all you do!
