JOLIET, IL— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Joliet, meet Kevin Jones Sr.
If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Roberta Jones who nominated Kevin Jones Sr. of Joliet.
What makes your dad extra special?
Kevin was a young father having his firstborn at just 18 years old. He didn't truly understand what being a young father really meant but he did a heck of a job making sure that his family was well taken care of. He went to college full-time and worked a full-time job. Along came two more sons and a grandson to complete the family and by then he was a pro at being a great dad/papa and juggling life.
Dads don't always get the recognition for the things that they do but it never goes unnoticed. He is a kid at heart who loves movies, music, sports and being with his family. Being a father isn't always easy and it takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice at times but no matter what his kids know that everything he has ever done was for them. Happy Father's Day, Kevin!
Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?
Sometimes Dads don't always feel recognized for the things they do and Kevin deserves to know that he is a great father and papa and his boys love and appreciate him more than he knows.
Happy Father’s Day to Kevin Jones, and thank you for all you do!
