Joliet Man 'Messes Around' With Gun, Shoots Himself in the Leg
The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a New Lenox hospital.
A 25-year-old man was taken to an area hospital Wednesday night after shooting himself in the leg — a wound he, at first, told police was not self-inflicted.
"His story was suspicious from the start and he eventually admitted some friends had been messing around with the gun when he asked to see it," Joliet Police Department Deputy Chief Ed Gregory said, in a My Suburban Life report.
The man had initially said he heard multiple gunshots while in the 900 block of Rosalind Street before feeling a pain in his leg. No charges had been filed as of Thursday.
