Joliet Mom Of 2 'Never Let Her Storms Get Us Wet,' Daughter Says
Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the Joliet area. Meet Jennifer Jenkins.

JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.
This submission comes from Diamond Nicole, who nominated Jennifer Jenkins of Joliet.
What makes your Mom extra special?
My Mother is special in so many ways. My mother has been a health care worker in mental health, skilled, and psychiatric facilities. She has shown so much grace, patience, kindness and support, not only to the patients who love her by always expressing their gratitude but to the staff members as well. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. My mother is also special because she has stepped up in so many ways for her sisters after the recent passing of her own mother and brother just six months apart; her mother was the matriarch of our family. My mother continues to hold our family together by always being there, whether it’s a listening ear, emergency or a good meal to enjoy. My mother is also very special because she raised my Brother and I as a single parent for years, and she never let her storms get us wet. My brother and I always had everything we wanted and needed, never knowing just how hard she worked to make us happy. Fast forward, she has raised two amazing children. My brother, a CDL truck driver who attended Concordia College on a Football scholarship and myself, her beautiful daughter, a medical records director at the age of 31 at a psychiatric facility. If you ask me, I think this makes my mother pretty amazing. ❤️ Thank you, Mom for all you’ve done. Love Always, Diamond & Darrion. Happy Mother’s Day.
Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?
My mother deserves the spotlight because she often dims her own light to shine on others, and I believe she deserves all the sunshine and happiness this life has to offer.
Happy Mother's Day to Jennifer Jenkins, and thank you for all you do!
