Joliet Teen, 14, Who Died At Wilmington House Will Have Funeral Service In Channahon

Family members of Christopher Sjostrom reached out to Joliet Patch to share details of the funeral service and visitation for the 14-year-old, who died earlier this week at a house in Wilmington. Relatives told Joliet Patch that the autopsy results from the Will County Coroner's Office are not expected to be known for several more weeks.

JOLIET, IL — It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew and cousin. Christopher P. Sjostrom passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the age of 14 years. Christopher just graduated eighth grade as part of the Class of 2025 at Laraway School of Joliet.

Born in Joliet, IL the beloved son of Andrew Sjostrom, Amy Tucker and Brittany Delacruz; Loving brother of Amelia Bryant and Joel Jr. Bryant; Dear grandson of Joseph Toth, Linda Beha, Christine Tucker and Terry Sjostrom; Fond Great Grandson of Edward (the late Frieda) Beha and Betty Sjostrom. Also left to mourn his passing are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation for Christopher P. Sjostrom will begin at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 S. Ford Road, Channahon. A Prayer Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kathy Whatland officiating.
