Joliet Woman 'An Amazing Mom' To All Kids, Biological Or Not

JOLIET, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

She is a very kind-hearted woman. She may not be my biological mom, she made me and my kids feel very welcome. All children and children's closest friend, know that her door is always open. She is always willing to help in any way she can. Walking into her house, it feels like home. There is always good food to eat. In these past three years, she's been a great mom to get advice from. As my kids say, "Mama Lupita's house is always fun." She is such a kind and loving person that she would give you the shirt off her back. If you need a place to stay, she will welcome you into her house. I enjoy Sunday (lotería night) at mama Lupita's house.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Because she is an amazing mom to all her biological and adopted children.
