Eastbound lane closures will begin starting at 10 p.m. Friday between Wheeler Avenue and Briggs Street.
JOLIET, IL — Emergency repairs and pavement patching will force closures on eastbound lanes through Joliet on Interstate 80 starting Friday, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Lane closures will begin starting at 10 p.m. Friday between Wheeler Avenue and Briggs Street, weather permitting, IDOT said. Major travel delays are expected, and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
At least one eastbound lane will remain open at all times, IDOT said. The ramps and westbound I-80 will not be impacted. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
