JOLIET, IL — A 15-year-old student attending Joliet West High School was unable to attend their regular classes last week because the Joliet police arrested him on charges of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The student was taken to the River Valley Justice Center off McDonough Street.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that at 11:05 a.m. May 20, the Joliet Police Detective assigned as school resource liaison to Joliet West High School was notified that a dean had discovered an unknown substance following a search of a 15-year-old student after the student was suspected of remaining in a bathroom and not attending class.
The unknown substance was identified as suspected LSD, and the 15-year-old was placed into custody without incident, police said.
