At 6:09 a.m., the officers responded to the intersection of Plainfield Road and Voyager Lane for a crash with injuries. A Honda Civic driven by the young Plainfield man was believed to be traveling southbound on Plainfield Road approaching Voyager Lane. The Honda initiated a left turn toward Voyager Lane and collided with a Toyota Sienna driven by the Joliet woman driving northbound Plainfield Road at Voyager Lane.
The officers later learned that the stoplight for Plainfield Road was green at the time of the collision, English advised. The driver of the Honda was taken to St Joseph Medical Center, and the driver of the Toyota was rushed to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department.
