JOLIET, IL — Jalen Davis, a prolific business burglary defendants is Joliet in recent months, has now been connected to several more crimes across the city, Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said Thursday in a news release.

The police announced that 18-year-old Davis is now being charged with four more burglaries and two counts of criminal property damage following the investigations related to burglaries of additional Joliet area businesses.

According to English, Joliet police first arrested Davis back on Nov. 20 for burglaries near the Louis Joliet Mall at the Dollar Tree, Wendy’s and Dunkin’, and he was questioned about his involvement in additional burglaries to businesses in other areas of Joliet.

English said the detectives also identified Davis as a suspect in burglaries to the following businesses:

Oct. 30, Joliet Slammers Stadium, 1 Mayor Art Schultz Drive - Davis is suspected of entering the closed stadium and causing damage to different areas of the property.

Nov. 12, Subway Restaurant, 2892 Plainfield Road - Davis is suspected of entering the closed business and stealing cash from a safe.

Nov. 17, Valle’s Produce, 704 W. Jefferson St. - Davis is suspected of attempting to enter the closed business by force, causing damage to the exterior of the business. Access was not gained.

Nov. 17, Los Gorditas Restaurant, 907 W. Jefferson St., Davis is suspected of attempting to enter the closed business by force, entering a window and taking cash from a register.

On Dec. 8, Joliet police detectives obtained arrest warrants for the new charges and Davis was placed into custody without incident on Tuesday at 4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Campbell Street, which is where he resides.

He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear in Will County's Courthouse for his additional charges.
