With rape investigation pending, Chicago Blackhawks reveal plans to give away 10,000 Kaner bobbleheads on Jan. 24.

Even as the rape investigation of Patrick Kane remains unresolved, the Chicago Blackhawks are offering a special Patrick Kane memento this season: a bobblehead figurine.

You can get your own Patrick Kane bobblehead on Jan. 24 if you’re one of the first 10,000 fans to enter the United Center.

Chicagoans and Blackhawks fans took to social media Thursday immediately after learning of Patrick Kane Bobblehead Night, with some terming the promotion “disgusting” and “tone deaf.”

The Erie County district attorney said last week he’s unsure whether a case will be presented to a grand jury. Kane has not been charged. His DNA reportedly was not found beneath the waist of the 21-year-old woman accusing him of raping her at his New York home in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.

Still, the case is open, and many questions remain. EASports dropped Kane from the cover of the NHL16 video game released shortly after the rape allegations went public. He and team captain Jonathan Toews were to appear on the cover together, hoisting the Stanley Cup. Instead, Toews appears alone.

Kane joined his teammates for the first day of training camp, has been practicing and playing in exhibition games, and has thanked his family, girlfriend and fans for their support.
