JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department has issued another press release surrounding Thursday's dinner time incident involving a small airplane that made an emergency landing at the Inwood golf course, causing minor damage at the Joliet Park District property.

Joliet police said at 5:14 p.m., the officers responded to McDonough Street and Infantry Drive for a possible downed aircraft. The officers found the single-engine Piper PA-18 Super Cub aircraft in a grassy area near the Inwood Golf Course.

The 21-year-old man who was the pilot was outside of the aircraft and he was uninjured. No injuries were reported on the ground, either. The pilot indicated his aircraft’s engine began to fail mid-flight, prompting him to execute an emergency landing near the golf course.
