Pursuit With Officers Leads To Man's Arrest: Joliet Police Dept.

Jonathan Gutierrez-Manrique, 39, has been charged with aggravated fleeing, eluding a police officer and multiple driving offenses.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man is behind bars following a pursuit with police that occurred Friday, according to the Joliet Police Department. Jonathan Gutierrez-Manrique was booked into the Will County jail and charged with aggravated fleeing, eluding a police officer and multiple driving offenses.

Around 11 p.m. Friday, police said officers responded to a disturbance along the 800-block
of North Broadway. Once on scene, police said they determined that Gutierrez-Manrique and his ex-girlfriend had gotten into a verbal argument.

Gutierrez-Manrique left the scene prior to the arrival of officers, according to the police department. Police said he drove by officers on scene in a reckless manner, nearly striking multiple vehicles.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Gutierrez-Manrique, but he refused to stop his vehicle and a short pursuit ensued, police said.

Police said Gutierrez-Manrique was stopped along the 300 block of Pine Street after striking a
parked vehicle and was taken into custody.
