JOLIET, IL — The city of Joliet issued a press release on Tuesday advising everyone that as part of the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project, new pavement must be constructed at the Six Corners intersection of Plainfield Road and Black Road and Ruby Street and North Raynor Avenue.
The work to construct the new pavement is scheduled to begin the morning of Monday, June 9 and be completed on Monday, June 23. One lane of traffic in each direction on Plainfield Road and Black Rd / Ruby St. will be maintained during the work.
All traffic on Raynor Avenue at the Six Corners intersection will be closed and a detour will be in place during construction.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes for the duration of the work.
"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," Joliet announced.
