Ruby Street Bridge Closing For 2 Months This Summer In Joliet: IDOT Reveals
Pretty soon the only way to get from the east and west sides of Joliet will be to parachute in or swim across the Des Plaines River canal.

JOLIET, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation issued another press release on Thursday that is certain to make Joliet area travelers mad as hell.
According to the bulletin, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the movable bridges in downtown Joliet, the Ruby Street, Illinois 53, bridge over the Des Plaines River will be closing for two months.
The closure is contingent on the anticipated reopening of the Jefferson Street (U.S. 30) bridge later this month and scheduled to begin July 1, weather permitting.
