Run Over In Rockdale: Defendant Intentionally Drives Over Victim With Car, Prosecutors Say
The Will County Sheriff's Office fugitive task force managed to capture Deya Ali and he was booked into the jail on Wednesday.

ROCKDALE, IL — It took more than a week, but the Will County Sheriff's Office managed to capture 34-year-old Frankfort resident Deya Ali on Wednesday, and he is now being kept in the Will County Jail in connection with a violent crime in Rockdale involving an automobile.
Last week's criminal complaint, from Rockdale Deputy Police Chief Robert Baikie, charges Ali with three crimes of aggravated battery. The complaint indicates that Ali struck a man with his vehicle on Dec. 27, causing great bodily harm to the man.
The warrant for Ali's arrest indicated that he was unemployed and living in the 8300 block of West Chestnut Court in Frankfort, which is about 30 minutes away from Rockdale, Joliet's little neighbor to the south. Baikie informed Joliet Patch that the victim was a distant relative of Ali and that Ali continued making phone calls to the victim and another relative, vowing to kill them, even after the automobile incident. The victim's injuries were extensive, but not life-threatening, according to Rockdale police.
