Trouble At The Forge As Man Kept Harassing Women During Concert: Police

The Joliet police officers responded to The Forge at 22 W. Cass St. for a disturbance.

JOLIET, IL — A 26-year-old man who drove to downtown Joliet from Lombard now finds himself facing three criminal charges in connection with his visit to The Forge last weekend for the Forged In Bass music show.

"Vibes will be loud, heavy, and unapologetically filthy. Catch live vendors, local creatives, and a whole crowd of headbangers ready to rage," The Forge's Facebook page proclaimed.

Joliet police said they arrested Avinash Panjwani and gave him a notice to appear in Will County on charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing identification and criminal trespass to property.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 9:02 p.m. Aug. 15, officers responded to The Forge at 22 W. Cass St. for a disturbance. English said the officers were advised by security that they had received a complaint that Panjwani was harassing women in the establishment and following them around once they would not talk to him.

He refused to leave when requested by security.

According to English, the officers approached Panjwani, who then attempted to use a false name. Panjwani then called 911. He was advised by the officers to not call 911 as there was no emergency to report. He refused and was placed into custody, police said.
