Woman, 83, Dies After Crashing Into Gravestones At Abraham Lincoln Cemetery
The woman was pronounced dead early Wednesday afternoon in Joliet.
ELWOOD, IL — An 83-year-old woman from Joliet died Wednesday after crashing her vehicle at Abraham National Cemetery in Elwood, the Will County Coroner's Office announced.
Identified as Okcha Elliott, the woman was pronounced dead just after noon Wednesday at Prime Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, according to the coroner's office, which said her death was deemed "medical in nature."
According to WJOL, Elwood Police Chief Fred Hayes said Elliot lost control of a vehicle, drove over a median and crashed into several grave markers at the cemetery, and that she likely suffered a heart attack prior to the crash.
