31st Street in La Grange Park to Close Nov. 12 for Repairs

Beginning at 7 a.m. Nov. 12, 31st Street will close to traffic at the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad tracks, between Barnsdale Road and Beach Avenue, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The street in La Grange Park will be closed for repairs to the railroad crossing, weather permitting, an the project should be complete by Nov. 22.

Traffic on westbound 31st Street will go north on Maple Avenue (17th Avenue), west on Cermak Road, south on U.S. 20/45 (LaGrange Road), to reconnect with 31st Street. Eastbound traffic will follow the reverse route, according to IDOT. The detour will be posted.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time to move through the area.
