55 Gallons of Cooking Grease Spill During Attempted Theft: Police Blotter

Friday, Aug. 16
No Driver's License
James R. Barnhill, 45, of the 100 block of West Briarcliff in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 5:01 p.m. near the intersection of Plainfield and Madison, police said. He was charged with driving without a license.
Firework Damage
A resident said there appeared to be firework damage to her home’s door in the 500 block of South Madison, police said. The damage occurred sometime between Aug. 15 and 16. She said people had been setting off fireworks in her neighborhood during the past few days, but she didn’t know who they were.

Beer Cans on Playground
Beer cans were strewn about the playground at Spring Avenue and Gurrie schools over the course of several days. Police put a special watch on the area.

Man Screaming in Front of Fannie May
A man in a long-sleeve grey shirt and red sweatpants with a white stripe was reportedly screaming in front of Fannie May, police said. Officers were unable to find him.
Suspended, Revoked License
Megan E. Siegel, 26, of the 11600 block of 79th Street in Burr Ridge, was arrested around 7:51 a.m. near the intersection of Ashland and Brewster and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license, police said.

Kids Hide in Bushes, Throw Things at Cars
Two kids were reportedly hiding in bushes and throwing things at cars around 3:51 p.m. near the intersection of La Grange and 50th, police said. The kids were gone when officers arrived.
Cooking Grease Theft
Someone tried to steal a 55-gallon drum of cooking grease from Lyons Township High School but spilled it near Park and Cossitt, police said.
