6 Mini-Shops Opening In Brookfield
Coffee, books, fashion and jewelry are among the offerings.

BROOKFIELD, IL – Six shops are opening in downtown Brookfield's Progress Park next week as part of a business incubator program.
The grand opening is June 6.
According to a village news release, the shops are:

- Four Star Coffee Company – Handcrafted drinks, candles, mugs and artisan goods
- Frost With Us – Cake-decorating kits and workshops for all skill levels
- New Book Joy – Books, gift boxes and literary items for all ages
- Organic Jewelry – Handmade jewelry using watch parts and natural materials
- Rites of Wellness – Plant-based bath and body products, home goods and supplements
- The Shop Salon & Style House – Fashion and accessories
The shops are slated to be open through December from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Called the Brookfield Shops at Progress Park, the businesses were selected earlier this year through a "Shark Tank"-style competition. Each shop is set to run through 2025.

The village said it was inspired by the success of similar programs in neighboring towns.
"This initiative is a key part of our commitment to fostering local talent, supporting small businesses, and strengthening the economic vitality of the Village of Brookfield," Libby Popovic, the village's community development director, said in the news release.
The grand opening ceremony is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 6 at Progress Park. The ribbon-cutting is at 11:15 a.m.
