LA GRANGE, IL – Seven candidates remain in the race for the Lyons Township High School board.

A look at the Cook County Clerk's website shows that Gina Sirchio-Lotus of La Grange has withdrawn from the race.

Patch previously reported that Jill VanHimbergen dropped out.

Sirchio-Lotus, a 1994 graduate of Lyons Township, is listed on LinkedIn as a doctor at the LG Institute of Health. Patch could find no announcement of Sirchio-Lotus' withdrawal.

In December, she said in an email to Patch, "I’m very proud of LT and want to give back to the students, faculty and parent community. I hope to bring a sincere platform of serving as many of our district’s students as best as we can before they launch into their adult lives."

In an announcement late last month, VanHimbergen said she withdrew after attending board meetings, talking with board members and residents, and learning what board membership requires.

She said she would back incumbents Kari Dillon and Jill Beda Daniels. The other incumbent up for election, Alison Kelly, decided against running again.

Three of the board's seven seats are up in the April 4 election.

Besides the incumbents, the other candidates are Tim Albores, Justin Clark, Frank Evans, David Herndon and Tim Vlcek.

Patch has submitted questionnaires to the candidates. It plans to publish their responses.
