LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange is one of the planned sites for nationwide "No Kings" protests on Saturday.

Protesters are set to demonstrate from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue, which is where the La Grange Public Library is.

It is also Trump's birthday and Flag Day. On the same day, Trump plans a parade with tanks and soldiers in Washington to mark the Army's 250th birthday.

According to the No Kings website, the core principle for all the events is a commitment to nonviolence. Organizers said they expect participants to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree.

The website states, "President Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else."

Organizers said they are not gathering to feed Trump's ego.

"The flag doesn’t belong to President Trump," the website said. "It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it."
