Arger Pleads Not Guilty to Transportation, Possession of Child Porn

Nathan Arger, 32, pleaded not guilty today to charges of transportation and possession of child pornography. Arger will remain on home confinement and electronic monitoring. La Grange Park Police say they will keep up patrols in the area.

Nathan Arger, 32, of La Grange Park entered a plea of not guilty today in federal court before Judge Amy St. Eve on allegations that Arger transported and possessed child pornography.

If convicted Arger could face a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison with a maximum fine of $250,000.

Arger remains in La Grange Park on home confinement and electronic monitoring. who resides at 538 N. Spring Ave. in September on a $100,000 bond.

"We are going to continue to vigilantly patrol the area," said Chief Daniel McCollum.

after federal agents found pornographic images via a peer-to-peer file sharing network. The discovery led FBI agents to Arger's home where they said they found over 700 images and 12 videos depicting child porn. turned up 160 gigabytes of "child pornography and child erotica," according to a press release. Additionally, photos and video of Arger with two young girls—one partially nude—were discovered as well.

Arger was a part-time employee of Lyons Township High School at the time of his arrest where he was working in the school's television and radio stations as a non-faculty staff member. Arger worked mostly after school hours, nights and weekends. There are no allegations that Arger had any illegal contact with students. Upon his arrest, Arger was put on immediate, unpaid leave. 

Arger's next court date is set for Dec. 12.
