Beer Open, Headlight Out, Driver Charged: Police Blotter

Juan C. Mendez, 20, of the 5200 block of West Lemoyne in Chicago, was arrested around 12:49 a.m. Feb. 26 on the 900 block of La Grange Road, La Grange Park police said. When officers pulled him over for having only one lit headlight, they said they found an open case of Modelo Especial beer behind the front passenger seat. Mendez was charged with improper lighting, no valid drivers license and illegal transportation of alcohol.
