
I celebrated my birthday Thursday with the best cupcake of my life (10 of them, actually) thanks to a sneaky plan my parents arranged with Isn't That Sweet bakery in La Grange.
If you haven't tried the Blue Velvet cupcake before, place an order, stat. The rich cake is loaded with large, juicy blueberries. It's all topped with a tangy cream cheese frosting that provides the perfect foil to the fruity base.
Thanks goes out to bakery owner Nicole Betourney, who not only helped my parents with the plan but also offered the adorable suggestion that the cupcakes had to be partnered with a balloon. Sweet indeed.
