Brookfield Man Arrested In Federal Drug Bust: Authorities
He was one of five suspects in the investigation. He could face life in prison, prosecutors said.
LA GRANGE, IL – A Brookfield man was one of four people arrested on charges of conspiring to distribute drugs such as fentanyl, methamphetamine and heroin in 2023 and 2024 in Chicago, federal authorities said Thursday.
Charged with conspiracy and distribution of drugs are 43-year-old Larry Lemon of Brookfield and Chicago residents 33-year-old Jared Daniels, 34-year-old Cristine Serrano and 35-year-old Shernell Anderson, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Daniels, Serrano and Jonathan Collins, 33, of Chicago, were charged with federal gun offenses. They are accused of illegally possessing firearms, including guns equipped with "switch" devices, making them capable of firing multiple rounds with a single pull of a trigger, authorities said.

All the suspects are in jail. The ones facing drug charges could get life in prison, prosecutors said.
The Brookfield Police Department was among the agencies that helped in the investigation.

The case was part of Operation Take Back America, which aims to "repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime," the news release said.
