Burn May Affect La Grange Park Air Quality

Prescribed burns are an efficient forest management tool, the village said.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL – A prescribed burn that took place most of the day Monday at Possum Hollow Woods, which is northwest of La Grange Park, may affect air quality in the village, according to a La Grange Park news release.

Under specific favorable conditions, highly trained Forest Preserves of Cook County employees, private contractors, partners and volunteers conduct prescribed burns each fall, the release said. The benefits of such burning make it one of the most efficient management tools of the Cook County agency, the village said.
